The original Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and eventually taken over by a moveable feast of participants when Delores had computer troubles. Sadly, Delores has now closed her blog forever due to other problems. The aim of the words is to encourage us to write. A story, a poem, whatever comes to mind. If you are posting an entry on your own blog, please let us know so we can come along to read it and add a few encouraging words. This month the words/prompts are supplied by River (that's me) and can be found here This week's words/prompts are: 1. on the run 2. belong 3. street 4. breakfast 5. tent and this image: taken by "Genius" and allowed by Val . Also Charlotte's colour of the month which is Orient Red for September.
Oh, if only it worked as well as in McGyver! Some parts were so small, I didn't know what to use them for.
ReplyDeleteS.J.Qualls; really? I've never seen a Swiss Army Knife, so I'm surprised to hear this.
DeleteI carried one of these for years, and used every tool in it, including the saw. Mine had a compass AND the toothpick. I recently gave it to my bicycling grandson, and forgot to point out the toothpick. I'll have to quiz him on it some day.
ReplyDeleteJoanne; I used to wish I had one, but could never justify the cost and didn't really need one.
DeleteMcGyver was brilliant!!
ReplyDeletefishducky; McGyver still is brilliant :D
DeleteSeems like it would be very handy to have McGyver close at hand. I have never had a multi purpose knife, Swiss or otherwise.
ReplyDeleteCheryl; I wouldn't mind having McGyver close at hand. He could keep a Swiss army knife in his pocket.
DeleteMulti-purpose knives (and people) are brilliant Himself's has a torch as well, which he has found useful more than once.
ReplyDeleteElephant's Child; I've never owned anything that was specifically multi-purpose, although most of my stuff does get used for multi purposes. I have a mini torch on my key ring, which isn't as handy as it seems. When I'm holding the torch to see the keyhole, the key itself doesn't reach.
DeleteI think I need one. I am not sure what I would use it for, but it seems essential.
ReplyDeleteAndrew; I'm like you, I think I need one, I'd like to have one, I'm sure it would come in handy. Maybe. But I'll never get one (*~*)
DeleteI love this, but I don't think I have any use for the MacGyver attachment. It would creep me out having it in my pocket. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Elf Christine: you could keep it in your handbag instead? Probably it would still creep you out, so this is definitely not for you.
ReplyDeleteI've never watched an episode of McGyver. When it was showing first time around I was working shift work...days and nights...I didn't watch much TV at all in those times.
ReplyDeleteA handy knife to have, though! :)
