VIRUS WARNING! NEW SCAM!

As if we don't already have enough to worry about.....

apparently there's a new computer scam going around where people are sent a warning saying the Coronavirus has been found in their area, with an attached file that is supposedly infection prevention measures, but if you open the file it infects your computer with malware.

DO NOT OPEN THE ATTACHMENT!

  1. Thanks, I almost never open a file unless I am certain of who sent it, even then I don't trust identities as scammers often fake names that they get from social media.

    1. joeh, you're welcome. I'm the same with opening emails. remember a while ago when people got emails supposedly from me? I've had the odd one or two supposedly from you but they go to my spam folder, my computer must be picking up something that tells it that it isn't the real joeh. I opened one to check, and it was spam, so now I just delete all spam without checking.

  9. Thanks, my son forbids me to open things like that! He is the one who would have to fix it, so I always call him if I see something that sounds too good to be true. Too bad those people don't have better things to do!
