VIRUS WARNING! NEW SCAM!
As if we don't already have enough to worry about.....
apparently there's a new computer scam going around where people are sent a warning saying the Coronavirus has been found in their area, with an attached file that is supposedly infection prevention measures, but if you open the file it infects your computer with malware.
DO NOT OPEN THE ATTACHMENT!

Thanks, I almost never open a file unless I am certain of who sent it, even then I don't trust identities as scammers often fake names that they get from social media.
ReplyDeletejoeh, you're welcome. I'm the same with opening emails. remember a while ago when people got emails supposedly from me? I've had the odd one or two supposedly from you but they go to my spam folder, my computer must be picking up something that tells it that it isn't the real joeh. I opened one to check, and it was spam, so now I just delete all spam without checking.
DeleteOpportunistic oxygen thieves. Thanks for the warning.
ReplyDeleteElephant's Child; you're welcome too. I don't want any of my friends affected. Nor anyone else either.
DeleteAlways someone out to take advantage of a bad situation.
ReplyDeleteAndrew; scammers and spammers are everywhere, and those who like to disturb your computer too.
DeleteThere are some bloody idiots in this world.....breeding faster than rabbits. They've nothing better to do with their time than to be brainless clowns!
ReplyDeleteThanks, River.
Lee; breeding faster than rabbits, that's a scary thought.
DeleteI go with Lee, that´s to the pont!
ReplyDeleteIris Flavia; it's unfortunate that you're probably both right.
DeleteThanks for the heads up. I wouldn't have opened it for I am like Joe. Just hate that people take advantage of a situation like this to attack our computers.
ReplyDeleteArkansas Patti; I like to give warnings when my friends might be affected.
DeleteThanks for the tip. You gave us the real way to avoid a "virus."
ReplyDeleteVal; I hope we can also avoid the real Coronavirus which seems to be spreading so fast.
DeleteOh my, to think people stoop so low. Thanks for the warning.
ReplyDeleteMargaret-whiteangel; some people will do anything for money, others will do it just because they can
DeleteThanks for heads up.
ReplyDeleteDora; you're welcome.
DeleteThanks, my son forbids me to open things like that! He is the one who would have to fix it, so I always call him if I see something that sounds too good to be true. Too bad those people don't have better things to do!
ReplyDeleteKathy's Klothesline; welcome to drifting, nice to see you here. Lucky for you to have a clever son. I have my daughter to help with computer stuff, she's the one who tells me of these new scams.
DeleteThanks for the warning! I had't heard that one yet.
ReplyDeleteThe horrible things people will do to each other. Thanks for the warning.
