The original Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and eventually taken over by a moveable feast of participants when Delores had computer troubles. Sadly, Delores has now closed her blog forever due to other problems. The aim of the words is to encourage us to write. A story, a poem, whatever comes to mind. If you are posting an entry on your own blog, please let us know so we can come along to read it and add a few encouraging words. This month the words/prompts are supplied by River (that's me) and can be found here This week's words/prompts are: 1. on the run 2. belong 3. street 4. breakfast 5. tent and this image: taken by "Genius" and allowed by Val . Also Charlotte's colour of the month which is Orient Red for September.
Talking to yourself is OK; it's when you ask yourself a question & then say "What?" that you should worry!!
ReplyDeletefishducky; oh dear, I'm in trouble. I question my questions all the time!
DeleteI've been talking to myself all my days.....contributes to that picture of me as a flaky old lady.
ReplyDeleteonly slightly confused; I tried not to when I was little, I didn't want to be thought mentally challenged like my sister who also always spoke to herself. I grew out of that of course and now talk to my self all the time. I talk to the TV too, telling it how silly it is mostly.
DeleteI talk to myself, too, but my advice is usually way off.
ReplyDeleteSharon Qualls; my advice is fine, but usually I don't listen to it. Rebellious, that's me.
DeleteThe expert advice I get when I talk to myself is always something I agree with.
ReplyDeleteJimmy; I try to agree with my own expert advice, but when it's telling me I need to cook meat and vegetable and all I really want is cream cake, I sometimes ignore it.
DeleteOf course I talk to myself - because I listen.
ReplyDeleteElephant's Child; I listen to myself too and usually end with "what am I saying?/thinking?"
DeleteAnd I never get cranky when I interrupt and talk over mysel!
ReplyDeleteLee; me neither, in fact interrupting myself is the only time interrupting is allowed.
DeleteI wholeheartedly agree, River. I hate it when someone talks over me...and some people insist on doing so!!
DeleteHave you noticed it took me 7-1/2 hours to reply...just so I wouldn't talk over you! :)
Of course i talk to myself, i have to have at least one intelligent conversation each day!
ReplyDeletemessymimi; welcome to drifting. I used to use that excuse, but these days I'm questioning the 'intelligent' part.
DeleteHave to admit ...
ReplyDeleteI always talk to myself too!!!
All the best Jan
Lowcarb team member; join the club, there seems to be quite a few of us and I think you'll like it here.
DeleteTalking out loud to myself is how I make myself focus if my mind is wandering! Now I'll have to ask myself for some advice and see how I do answering ...
ReplyDeletejenny_o; it's a good way to rein in that wandering mind, sometimes I just let it keep wandering, see where it takes me.
DeleteI talk to myself, but my husband butts in and argues with me! Even when it has nothing to do with him, but rather something simple like steps I'm going through getting supper ready.
ReplyDeleteI say he must feel guilty about whatever he accuses me of saying about him.
Val;don't you find that annoying? You have a good conversation going with yourself and along comes anybody to put in his two cents worth.
ReplyDeleteNow I'll have to ask myself for some advice and see how I do answering ...
