This is how the teaset works

you all remember the tea-set I received for Mother's Day?

This is it, still in the box.

unpack all the pieces

the teapot lifts out of the cup

the steeper/strainer has holes in the base

into that add however much dried tea leaves you prefer, this is a teaspoon of dried chamomile flowers

place it back into the teapot, pour in boiling water and put the lid on then let it steep until the tea is the strength you like.

I use a fine wire strainer when pouring the tea into the cup to filter out finer particles and add a teaspoon of honey as well.

To store it neatly without taking up too much space just pack it all together again once you have washed and dried it.

It looks dainty. I hope the grandchildren don't help themselves to the tea :)

That's quite pretty, and clever.

How cute is that! Makes a good cuppa R?

Such a cute gift! I'm not a tea drinker, and would have no clue how to use it. Thanks for the "demonstration."

I haven't seen that type of tea set for one. Very clever. Mine was just a small teapot set on a wide cup.
They are clever aren't they? And that is a very pretty one too.

What a clever idea.

The cup is very wide, so not long to wait for the tea to cool to drinkable.

hels; the grandchildren don't live close by so that isn't a risk.

messymimi; it is isn't it?

I read about yours, and it is only different because it doesn't have so many pieces, you can still make tea in the pot and then pour it into the cup for drinking. It's an old fashioned thing from when people made tea in pots before the teabag was invented. Your set looks small, like a toy teaset for kids to play with, is it kid size or adult size?

Katerinas Blog; it is useful and though I don't often drink tea, this is a nice way to enjoy a cup after dinner at night.

Margaret D; it is cute and a decent size too. A good cuppa depends on the te leaves used, some are nicer than others.

Val; you're welcome. I think most people these days just use a teabag in a cup of boiling water, this is a more old fashioned way.

jabblog; that's what most of the sets are, this is a fancier one, but has the same use.

Elephant's Child; it is very pretty, the picture on the box was pink, so I was nicely surprised to see a red set.

Jenn Jilks; thank you; it is lovely and sturdy too.

Granny Sue; it is pretty :)

WWW; it is lovely and just right for a cuppa after dinner at night.

Kathy G; Whoever thought of it must be happy.

Andrew; it is a wide cup and after years of drinking from mugs it felt a bit weird in my hands, but I'm getting used to it and the cooling time is faster.

Joanne; like living "back in the day" when people used teapots and pretty cups.
