Commenting options here have been changed..

..from embedded to a popup window.

It seems to be the embedded style which doesn't accept my comments, so I made the change and hope it "sticks".

My apologies to any who don't like this method, but we do what we must, right?

Comments

  1. I now do what Margaret suggested last time i.e copy my comment first, before trying to publish it on the blog itself. If I have taken a long time to think and write a decent response, it should be possible to refresh the blog page or send the comment by email.

  2. Changes are a pain in the proverbial! :)

  3. In the case of technology, a lot of times it's simply use what works.

  4. My comments had been working, but I don't mind the pop-up. I use it on one of my blogs. BLOGGER has been quite annoying lately. I often have to retrieve your comments from SPAM on both of my blogs. AND sometimes when I'm replying to my comments, BLOGGER flips out and give me the SOMETHING WENT WRONG message. So I always copy before trying to publish my replies, just in case.

  5. Blogger is for free, so... we must adapt. Sadly still often unsuccessful...
It was such a great tool when I started and I really do wonder what has happened... are kids programming it now? Or... worse... are us old folks too dumb these days?

  6. It's great,
    many blogs have adopted it!!

  7. hels; I tried the copy and paste method, sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't, and I don't have email addresses for all the blogs I visit. This morning I tried answering comments on my own blog and couldn't so now I have this pop-up window back again.

Joanne; it's a good thing I am used to it too.

Lee; I really hate change, I don't even shop for new clothes because I like what I have.

messymimi; this works for answering comments on my blog, but it doesn't help with other blogs where I can't comment, even with the copy paste method.

Val; my comments work on your pop-up blog, but from this morning, not on the other one, I tried the copy and paste, but it didn't work. I can tell you here that all that food looked delicious.

Iris; I've had troubke with my comments disappearing at your blog for a long while now. I write them, I see them, then they disappear.

Katerinas Blog; I used to have this many years ago and I will keep it now until something goes wrong with it.

  8. If it works do it.
I have found a way to comment on blogs with embedded comments which I prefer, but blogger's quirks are doing my head in.

  9. River, same, saw it, then it was gone and I forgot by now what I had said.... Wasn´t that important then...

  10. EC; what method would that be? Maybe others here can use it?

Iris; same as me, I forget what I wrote so I can't write it again and I'm not going to all the trouble of saving every comment somewhere just to copy it again. I check the spam every day and usually find at least one who should be allowed.

  11. As it is your blog you can choose whatever method works the best for you.

  12. Choose what suits you. Those who can't be bothered, won't be ;-)

  14. Works for me! (Though I might go to spam -- I often do, for some reason, regardless of the comment format.)

  15. Not much worse than the embedded format - I feel that no matter which method we use, too many comments are thrown into spam-limbo there to languish until we find them. And no help from Blogger either. I know it's fre and all that, still hundreds of reports on a daily vasis should ring an alarm bell.
I almost always copy my comment before clicking Submit, but of course the times I forget is when Blogger buckles up. :D

  16. jabblog; choose what works rather than what suits, as long as my readers can comment, and I can reply, the method doesn't really matter in the end.

Steve Reed; I am often in spam too. I check my spam folder each time I log on, so it doesn't get overfull. It's odd that it sometimes scoops up the good guys and lets the spam through though.

Charlotte; I never used to copy my comment until just lately I did a couple of times, but even with copy and paste they still don't get published on some blogs, so I gave up on that. I did get very annoyed when I couldn't reply to comments here on my own blogposts, that's why I changed.

  17. jabblog; yours is one blog I am unable to leave a comment at, but I am still reading and enjoying your posts. A pub full of Dads sounds very Australian.
