In the Sunday Mail (Adelaide’s Sunday newspaper) By Melissa Leong “I wonder if we’re losing our capability for rational discussion” There’s no question that the world is in the toilet right now. And I mean right at the bottom of the bowl, you know? Sure, as long as there have been people on the planet, we’ve had or issues. But at present it certainly feels as though things have hit a fever pitch that only dogs and bats should be able to hear. As such, I don’t think anyone can be blamed for being a little (or a lot) up in arms, From the atrocities of war and political injustice to social inequality; tragedy and environmental disaster, there’s a lot to be angry, sad and confused about, that’s for sure. I don’t know about you, but every day feels a bit like a powder keg waiting to blow at any given moment. As our patience wears thin on the issues we care about, I’m noticing that a new kind of worrying trend is rising in tandem. For the sake of our conversation, I’m going t...
Amazing how those ear lobes have held their shape after ALL these years lol.
ReplyDeleteonly slightly confused; my ear lobes are exactly the same after all these years too :)
DeleteYay for ear lobes!
ReplyDeleteSusan Kane; they're the one body part guaranteed not to gain weight :)
DeleteLucky you, osc and Susan! My ear lobes are heading south! My earring still fit, they are just a tad lower! Ha Ha!
ReplyDeleteSharon Qualls; try wearing lighter weight earrings? I noticed the heaviness when I wore Christmas ornament earrings to work each December, and was always glad to take them off each night.
DeleteHeh, heh! I probably couldn't fit into the CAR I drove in high school!
ReplyDeleteVal; sure you can, just put all your spare bits in the trunk (*~*)
DeleteWow! Such a feat to hear this!! Who knows what other marvellous things Maxine is capable of! What a cheek!
ReplyDeleteI never wore earrings when I went to high school, so I can't claim to be able to do the same!
Lee; I didn't wear earrings in high school either. Jewellery wasn't allowed apart from a watch and Catholic girls were allowed to wear their crucifix if they had one. When I started work I got my ears pierced with my first paycheck, piercing and sleepers cot a whopping $6 :)
DeleteI am with Sharon here. My earrings still fit, but they do hang lower than they did.
ReplyDeleteElephant's Child; you must have worn heavy danglers too. I always chose lightweight earrings or studs of some type. It was Mum's idea and over time I saw her point.
DeleteI love this :) And it's not something that is true of all jewellery, either - just earrings :)
ReplyDeletejenny_o; that's true. Rings I wore years ago now don't even fit on my pinky finger.
