Help Please?

For several weeks now I have been unable to access youtube.

Everyone else I know has no problem, even with all their different browsers.

I don't want to have to change browsers and shouldn't have to.

Does anyone out there know of a contact address, like email perhaps, where I can get in touch with youtube and find out what is going on?

this is the message I get EVERY SINGLE TIME!

youtube! Why have you deserted me?

I miss you.

  1. A couple of things to maybe try. My browser doesn't show the www in the address bar. If you are entering the address manually, leave the www out.

While it will revert to just .com try typing .com.au in the address.

You can often fix something by fiddling around, although I am sure you would like to know why it is happening. Good luck with contacting YouTube.

    1. Andrew; I tried that and it doesn't work. I can't view video links from other blogs either. Have I somehow accidentally turned something off?

  2. How i wish i knew what to say. Have you asked Mr. Google? Sometimes others have had the same problem and there are solutions to try out there, you just have to search.

    1. After typing in "cannot access Youtube" i got several sites to check out. Here's one,
over here. As i noted, you never know what kind of info you can dig up, and one of them may hold an answer.

  3. Here is another site to try (The Top 8 Common YouTube Errors - How To Fix Them).
    https://youtubedownload.minitool.com/youtube/youtube-error.html

On that site there is also a section with FAQs, which includes this list of things to try:

    Restart YouTube.
    Restart your device.
Turn off and on internet connection.
Clear caches on your browser or app.
Uninstall and reinstall the YouTube app.
    Update the YouTube app.
    Update your device.

Have you also tried turning your computer off, waiting 30 seconds, then restarting? It's worth a try if you haven't already. Actually, this is the first thing I'd try if I was you.

I hope you can get YouTube back. I use it a lot the last few months, and know how much I'd miss it if it conked out on me.

    1. jenny_o; turning off and restarting is always the first thing I try. My laptop updates often enough so that shouldn't be a problem.

  4. I found this on the site messymimi referred to.

    "Hello,
I'm also facing this problem. When i sign out my Microsoft account to Local account, the Facebook.com, Youtube and all google services run properly. But when i again signed in this problem happens again. Help me some please :( "

I generally say logged out of Microsoft. I've never had a problem. Otherwise, try everything above.

    1. Mike; thanks. I've been running Microsoft Edge since I got this laptop with no problems other than this recent lack of youtube and not being able to view video links on other blogs, which I assumed was just "this video is not available for your country"

  5. When It comes to things on computer I'm pretty much like fish out of water. Our local library has people who will help one with computer issues. I don't if your library does or not.

    1. Dora; my library is a long bus ride away and they don't seem to know much more than I do. I'll try the advices given above.

  6. I googled "How do I contact youtube" and got a string of answers and even an 800 number. I doubt what I found would work in Australia, but if you can't find anything, email me and I'll give you all the links.
