Sunday Selections # 580

Long ago, Kim of Frog ponds Rock, (who no longer blogs), dreamed up a meme called Sunday Selections.

A place where those who were willing could put up photos they wanted to share, new, old, good, bad or indifferent, any photos you please.

Nothing rude or vulgar though.

And we don't mind at all if overseas bloggers care to join us.

The meme is now continued by Elephant's Child and I occasionally join in as do a few others. Andrew is one.  Messymimi is another. Drop in to them and have a look.

Let's take a little walk around the grounds here and see the nice things in people's gardens:

dragonfly solar lights to lights your way at night, these were all the way along the path

a pretty statue with a pretty floral crown

a new hanging basket of pretty pink

I don't remember what these are called, the name is in my memory

a tiny mushroom with a tiny fairy

an angelic violinist

a mosaic cat on a mosaic pot

a metal ladybug, this one won't fly away

butterfly wall art

happy Buddha

spruce cones were spread far and wide under the tree

don't you think they look like wooden roses?

this cheeky youngster and I had quite the conversation, him squawking, me whistling, or trying to anyway

finishing up with a phoned-in pale yellow sunset from "no-one", how often do you see a yellow sunset without any pinks or orange?

  1. I have a Buddha with children climbing all around his happiness, it is large and...happy! The cones are gorgeous and so it the mosaic pot. Great stuff along the way!

    1. Linda Sue; this Buddha is only about 8-10 inches tall and I haven't seen him before, he's newish, as is the mosaic pot.

  2. The solar dragonflies are simply wonderful - I wouldn't mind something like that in my garden. I'm always jealous of your wonderful birds (I always see them on EC's blog). Oh, and those spruce cones are lovely! Thank you for all these beautiful images.

    1. Carola Bartz; welcome to drifting and thanks for dropping in. Our birds are wonderful, noisy too, but we love them.

  3. You and your neighbours certainly have fun making a fun garden...lovely! The hanging blooming plant is beautiful!

I hope you enjoy the rest of Easter, River...and the enjoyment continues the coming week through. Take care...cuddles to the lovely Lady Lola. :)

    1. Lee; thank you, not all the neighbours have pretty things, so I appreciate those who do. The hanging basket and dragonflies belong to the same person and her neighbour has a garden with many pots of flowers.
Lady Lola is feeling much better now, I took her to the vet on Thursday for her shots and they gave her an antibiotic shot too because her scratched area was infected. I knew it was because she allowed me to catch her and seemed very willing to get into the carrier. I think she is beginning to associate a trip to the vet with feeling much better after it.

  4. The dragonfly lights are pretty.

Everyone knows those pink flowers are called.....hmm, mental block.

    Love the tin ladybug.

The setting sun is a very unusual colour. I can't remember seeing those colours.

    1. Andrew; the dragonfly lights are probably from Cheap as Chips, do you have that store in Melbourne? or they're from Bunnings. They're are quite large, 3 or 4 inches across the wingspan, so they shine nicely after dusk.
I still have the mental block. The tin ladybug is huge about 30cm!
I like the yellow sunset, it's soft and almost delicate as well as unusual.

    God bless.

  9. Interesting photos! I think the pink flowers are a type of chrysanthemum, aren't they? I love the happy Buddha!

    1. Steve Reed; they do look like crysanthemums, but they are tiny, about one and a half inches across. Thanks for dropping in.

  10. I had a dragon fly light once.

  11. I thought chrysanthemums, too; these look like what we see in the stores here in our fall season. According to Google, there is such a thing as mini-chrysanthemums.I've never seen pink ones for sale, though; we always get yellows, oranges and rusts. I like the pink much better.

A wonderful array of photos. That sunset is very unique, and I do like all the garden ornaments. Have a good week!

    1. jenny_o; I will ask C next time I see her, but they probably are crysanthemums.

  13. A wonderful collection - sorry I am so late.
Your ladybug-comment made me smile, too.
A dragonfly once "sat" behind me. In a CAT (free bus in Perth). Not so funny (today I can laugh about that).

    1. Iris Flavia; you don't like dragonflies? They don't harm, not like bees, they are just pretty. I don't see real ones anymore, around here, but I see them at the Botanic Gardens by the Lily pond.
