Musical Monday #6
Musical Monday
I was introduced to
Musical Monday by Delores who copied the meme from another site.
I think it’s a fun way
to show off some of the music we like and brighten up our Mondays at the same
time.
I’ll be finding my clips
on you tube, so will simply credit that site since there are often so many
versions of everything and I wouldn’t want to accidentally credit the wrong
artist.
Today’s clip is Mac Davis on an outrageously funny ego trip
It's Hard To Be Humble
I did a quick search for lyrics, but couldn't find any and had to give up because Angel wouldn't stay off the keyboard.
Hi human, River,
ReplyDelete"Oh, Lord, it's hard to be humble
When you're 'pawfect' in every way
I can't wait to look in the mirror
'Cause I get better lookin' each day"
Pawsitive wishes,
Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet superstar!
Sadly, far too many people have adopted this as their personal anthem. Funny - but sad.
ReplyDeleteOh Lord, it's hard to be humble...but I'm doing the best that I can.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of a lot of men and few women well quite a few women, me included sometimes, but only sometimes, a fun song
ReplyDeleteMerle.........................
Great song. Love Mac Davis.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is hard to be humble, esp. if you have bundles of money and plastic surgeons.
Oh, how I love Mac Davis. I must dig out some of his music...I've not played him for ages...thanks for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteHave a good week, River. :)
Not heard of this artist before but that doesn't surprise me at all. Found it difficult (as usual) to make out all the words so good of klahanie to supply some of them.
ReplyDeleteNot my cup of tea but obviously lots of people like him and that is the important thing.
klahanie; dear Penny, you do indeed get more better looking each day.
ReplyDeleteNot so for the rest of us.
Elephant's Child; I know more than a few who need to walk a mile in humble shoes.
Delores; we're all doing the best that we can, if only the rest of the world would follow our humble example.
Merle; you know a few of the "big-heads" too?
Susan Kane; I know plenty of people with bundles of money and they're fine, but there are a few who could come down the ladder a bit and try being real.
Lee; his songs are great aren't they? I don't have any yet apart from this one, but I'll get them over time.
Mimsie; Mac Davis is from the 80s, definitely not your style. Who do you like to listen to?
Who do I enjoy listening to? I am so old fashioned but I love Andy Williams, Harry Belafonte, Roger Whittaker, Perry Como, Frank Sinatra and the chap that sings "Vincent". I don't listen to music on the radio these days and haven't done so for many years. I've even almost given up listening to talk back radio too. There is a radio station here that plays old songs and we often listen t that when in the car.
