Lee; that's true, too many don't realise they haven't learned everything they can yet, and sadly too many learn the wrong things. I find some of today's music acceptable, but not much of it. We are at the stage of "living in the past" when it comes to music we enjoy.
Didn´t know that song - we were carpenters, my Brother and I - renovating apartments (two of mine, our Mum´s). Happy times... To siblings and fun. And music! Today (ack, I´m getting old....) most is but "noise" to me ;-) But reckon music often shows how people feel. Back then happy the war is over - now fearing loss of job, prices rising, another big war etc... makes people aggressive... I like this song, thank you :-)
Iris; I haven't heard a lot of today's music, most of my playlists are from the 70s, 80s and 90s with just a few from recent years. I prefer songs that make me feel happy and the songs that are about anger or hate just don't do that for me. I was never a carpenter, I can't hammer in a nail and have it go straight!
messymimi; it's been stuck in my head for a month now and I hoped putting it here would help it 'move on', but I still have it in my head. I had a wonderful day with the twins.
Long ago, Kim of Frog Ponds Rock, (who no longer blogs), dreamed up a meme called Sunday Selections. A place where those who were willing could put up photos they wanted to share, new, old, good, bad or indifferent, any photos you please. Nothing rude or vulgar though. And we don't mind at all if other bloggers care to join us. The meme is now continued by Elephant's Child and I join in as do a few others. Andrew is one. Messymimi is another. Drop in to their blogs and have a look. Wisewebwoman has also been joining us occasionally. Beginning today with a few photos of my TV screen, on the news: In the far north, the APY Lands (I think, it was a while ago) the indigenous people held their own Grand Final football match: in the heat and the red dust much fun was had spectators as well as players it was lovely to see, quite a change from the city matches with over-crowded stands and all the cheering and booing that goes on. on another TV show: she really killed...

Brother R came to visit and brought me some old paperwork belonging to my dad, who has been dead for 25 and a half years now. They'd been stored in a container with moth balls and were quite stinky so I pegged them out on the clothes rack in the back porch three days later, most are now inside, but the heavier items such as dad's passports are still smelly so they are still out there. I now have the original copy of his natu...
You have fun!
ReplyDeleteJenn Jilks; oh I did! I got down on the floor and they crawled over me.
DeleteI had forgotten that song - loved it. So we are both 70!
ReplyDeleteChatty Crone; yes we are. Amazing isn't it? Where did the last 40 years disappear to?
DeleteSuch music stands the test of time.
ReplyDeleteAndrew; many early songs do, but some of the rap from these times may be forgotten as the years move on.
DeleteWe used to sing that in our elementary school music class. I will never forget it!
ReplyDeleteSteve Reed; it's a nice song that helps kids think and say nice things in my opinion.
DeleteMany humans throughout the world have much to learn...but are too dumb to realise it!
ReplyDeleteMusic today is not at good as it once was! Thanks for the reminder, River. :)

DeleteGreat song, and nice to see all the pictures.
ReplyDeleteJoanne; it is a great song with a simple message to be nice.

ReplyDeleteyellowdoggranny; I only took one picture of them sleeping right before I left. I was too busy playing with them to use the camera.
