Merle; I really hate that clothes are made for narrow people. Especially t-shirts. Yes, they stretch, but only so far and those of us with a bit of width are stuck with the "one size fits all" options.
Penny; you have so much to be thankful for. Not only do you not have to face clothes shopping and fitting rooms, you don't have to worry about keeping up with fashion styles either.
Lee; this will be one of my bookmarks, I'll slip it into a diet book that I never read.
Happy Christine; why can't manufacturers see that half the world is wider than everything they make?
I too have suffered a lot in purchasing clothes for me. The design which i like will be there only for the lean people and for my size there will be only limited size.
Oh this so sounds like me and T, we love going into what I call 'skinny women's shops' and scaring the staff. We're both larger ladies, and T jokes that a pair of jeans in those shops would just about fit her left leg, she'd need another pair for the right hand side...:) Me on the other hand, I just love seeing the looks on their faces...pure mischief.
The Wicked Writer; I avoid those shops as if they had plague in them (and depending on where the clothes were made maybe they do...), because everything in them seems to be made to fit six feet tall eight year olds. And all the jeans seem to be "low rise" which I hate. I'd prefer my jeans to sit higher than half an inch above my pubic bone! The sooner that fashion disappears, the happier I'll be.
Susan Kane; there are women who are size 2?? shame on them, they should diet immediately! I'm kidding of course. I know that your American sizing is different from ours, out here a size 10 is very slim, size 14 is a normal looking woman, most Aussies, according to recent research appear to be a size 16. That's me. I'd love to be a size 12 again, but sitting behind a computer eating ice cream won't see it happen. Our smallest adult women's size is 8 and I think that would equal your American size 4.
Not exactly environmentally friendly...... Line the base of your oven with a sheet of aluminium foil. If you keep a tray there to catch spills and overflows, line the tray with aluminium foil instead. It's much easier to throw away a sheet of foil (once it's been spilled on a few dozen times), than it is to scrub off baked on spillovers.
I shall keep this short and sweet. Thank you! Thank You! Thank You! I am truly surprised to have received this: Laughing Horse Award from Yorkshire Pudding , also known as YP, for being the Australian Blogger of the Year. Click the link to read the nice things he said.
You all know the ice cream company? Very expensive ice cream, which I recently discovered in small tubs at my local supermarket. I'd heard about Salted Caramel ice cream, with some bloggers raving about it, so when I saw the Haagen-Dazs tubs on sale for only $5 I bought some. I loved it! Fabulous stuff. Just the right amount of salted caramel streams to counteract the sweet ice cream. I would have rated it five stars. But just lately, I have been disappointed with the product containing far too much of the salted caramel and my rating now would be only one star. I went to the website and clicked on "contact us" to let them know I was no longer happy. The link popped up with an address to "General Mills" which I then clicked on only to find a small popup informing me they were "offline". Just because it is past regular business hours or permanently? Who knows. So I'm airing my grievance here instead. If this results in fewer sales of their Sa
I know that feeling
ReplyDeleteMerle.............
Thank heavens I don't wear clothes.
ReplyDeletePenny :)
I love that! lol
ReplyDeleteThat's how I feel shopping, too!

Mmm. I can relate to that lol

ReplyDeleteMimsie; I know only one person who can buy clothes that don't need altering. she is young, tall and thin.
ReplyDeleteWeekend-Windup; I'm an in between size. and short. One size is too tight, the next size is too loose and everything is too long.

ReplyDeleteWhile I am not quite that big, I still am angered by the fashions aimed at the size 2 women.
