Musical Monday # 134
Musical Monday
I was introduced to Musical Monday by Delores who copied the meme from another site.
I think it’s a fun way to show off some of the music we like and brighten up our Mondays at the same time.
I’ll be finding my clips on you tube, so will simply credit that site since there are often so many versions of everything and I wouldn’t want to accidentally credit the wrong artist.
Today’s clip is: Tony Christie
I Did What I Did For Maria
and the lyrics:
so you can sing along 😀

Hmm, never heard that one. Can't decide if I like it or not ...
ReplyDeleteS.J.Qualls; it's okay with me if you don't like it, personal preference is just so personal. I wouldn't expect everyone to like everything I do and it's okay to say so.
DeleteA song of great passion and the biblical eye for an eye.
ReplyDeleteAndrew; that's exactly what I thought. These days an eye for an eye is frowned upon, but he knew he would be punished, so he's prepared to die and does it anyway, for love.
DeleteWhen I saw 'Musical Monday' ... I thought it can't be it's only Sunday evening! Silly me of course it's Monday where you are.
ReplyDeleteThis global blogging is great isn't it !
I hadn't heard this song for a while, so thank you.
Hope the new week goes well for you
All the best Jan
Lowcarb team member; I'm glad you like the song. A golden oldie.
DeleteMy week is going well, trying to stay lowcarb and feeling a little hungry, but that will pass, I know, as I get used to less sugar.
I'd never heard this before--a VERY powerful song!!
ReplyDeletefishducky; I'm surprised you've never heard of this, it's an oldie from way back. It is powerful isn't it :)
DeleteI remember that song always liked it in some ways I agree some people should die and sometimes killing is the only way but who makes that call is another matter.
ReplyDeleteMerle..............
Merle; you're right about who makes the call, but the man did kill his wife and he himself is prepared to die for his killing of a bad man.
DeleteNow that is quite a ballad. I never heard it before but it reminds me of a lot of the sad songs from the 50's and 60's. TAKE A MESSAGE TO MARY or TEEN ANGEL...etc.
ReplyDeleteGranny Annie; another one who hasn't heard this before. It's from about the same era as Take a Message To Mary etc.
DeleteI hope you liked it.
It's a long time since I've heard this one. It's my vintage, of course. I wonder if Tony Christie ever found his way to "Amarillo? :)
ReplyDeleteLee; I'm pretty sure he's found Amarillo and probably several other places by now :)
DeleteForgot about him, great song and he has a rick voice..
ReplyDeleteMargaret-whiteangel; it is a lovely voice, like very smooth, rich, coffee.
DeleteI wonder what he is doing these days? I hope he is still working somewhere.
I remember this one well. I don't approve of killing, but yes, he was prepared to pay the price...
ReplyDeleteElephant's Child; I don't approve of killing either, but being prepared to pay the price makes it right in his eyes at least. And it is only a song.
ReplyDelete.. hi River.. thanks foe the trip down memory lane... I liked this song.... Barb xxxx
