Sunday Selections # 308
It's going to be a great year!
Welcome back to Sunday Selections.
Began way back in the mist of time by Kim of Frog Ponds Rock and now continued by me, with a drastic relaxation of rules.
Originally meant for showcasing old photos lost on your files, never seeing the light of day, the meme has morphed into photos of your choice, new or old, good or not-so-good, anything you please, but nothing rude please.
If you are participating, please leave me a comment so I can buzz along and have a look.
Elephant's Child always participates, and her pictures are always worth seeing.
I usually have a theme for the week and today's theme is Christmas and New Year 🎅🎄
the first dozen of last year's batch of mince pies and here you see what happens when too much filling is used. I didn't make as many as usual and almost burned one batch, so those were the ones I got to eat.
my newest Halloween witch. At first I named her Lizzie, but she soon let me know her name is Bridget. 50cm tall from base to tip of hat, she is hand made by a friend of a friend.
my tiny glass Christmas Tree complete with tiny glass ornaments several of which have broken off and gotten themselves lost, sitting next to my Christmas Elf. The tree is six inches tall.
another bit of Christmas frippery, bought at Cheap as Chips for about $5 long ago.
I do love these little Minions
I treated myself to Lobster Tails for Christmas Day lunch. These are available in the freezer section at Coles, but possibly only at Christmas.
they don't look as pretty as the picture on the box, but they were very yummy. not shown is the green side salad
I hope everyone, (that's EVERYONE not just those who read here) has a really great 2017
I'll have the lobster (with some dipping butter please) and the over filled pie.
ReplyDeletejoeh; I'll put you on the guest list for next year. The pies are tiny, are you sure you only want one?

Happy New Year--to eternity & beyond!!
ReplyDeletefishducky; eternity is a long, long time. That's a lot of happiness, we could all get giddy with the smiling, and wouldn't that be a wonderful change! Happy New Year to you.
DeleteI've eating a mince pie with my coffee as I write! Yours look delicious. If I run out, I'll shoot on down...but I guess by the time I get there, if not already, they're all gone!! :)
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful 2017, River....cuddles to Angel. :)
Lee; email me your address and I'll send you some mince pies next year. They're all gone for now. Cuddles right back at you for Remy and Shama.

ReplyDeleteAndrew; Happy New Year to you too. I could send you pies if you email me your address in time for Christmas 2017.
DeletePies sure looks yummy. Wishing you the best in 2017
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on
Dora; the pies are always yummy, I make them small so they're just a mouthful each.
DeleteHappy New Year.
Hey River,
ReplyDeleteI know have this incredible urge to consume more mince pies.
Thanks for sharing all those photos. A fantastic 2017 to you, your loved ones and yes, to all of us.
Gary
klahanie; Happy New Year to you too, I hope 2017 is very kind to you. I hope you can find someone to make mince pies for you.
Delete.. happy New Year, River....
ReplyDeleteI love fruit mince pies.... I'm the only one in my family who does and I get given a lot every year....I have some in my freezer now....
I love your little glass tree.. and the lobster tails look wonderful.. xxxxx
hugs to you and Angel... Barb xxxx
Barbara; in my family it's just me and two kids who like them. None of us like the store bought ones though, mine are better. I found the little glass tree in one of those warehouses full of stuff off a container ship, it was the only one left so I snapped it up.
DeleteThe lobster tails were yummy.
Many good wishes for 2017 ...
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Lowcarb team member; best wishes for 2017 to you too.
DeleteI am finally back from vacation and trying to catch up with all your posts.
ReplyDeleteYour pies look wonderful. I would be more interested in trying one of your pies more so than the lobster. I don't dislike lobster...it's just not on my favorite list.
Love your decorations. How did Bridget let you know her name wasn't Lizzie?
