just finished reading

One Big Damn Puzzler, by John Harding.

One of my daughters lent this to one of my sons,

and after reading this blurb on the back, I knew I didn't want to wait for him to finish reading it before I could.
So I bought my own copy.
It's funny, sad, and the last few chapters are quite moving.
But not in the way you'd expect.

And that's all I'm going to say.

If you want to know more, you're going to have to read the book yourself.

  3. I'm with amandab. I already have far toooo many books in piles all round the house and now I want this one too. Perhaps a trip to the library. But then if I love it I will want it anyway.

  5. Delores; amandab; EC; Windsmoke; I didn't bother adding this to my pile. I bought it and read it immediately.

  6. I'll add it to my list - we've been told about a bookshop here that has a large English section which we hope to visit soon. The other shops we've been told about on expat sites have tiny sections of maybe two rows of dodgy paperbacks..!

  7. Kath; I hope the large English section is more than a shelf or two. A whole section of assorted subjects for you would be great.
