Wednesday's Words on a Friday
On Wednesdays, Delores, from A Feathered Nest has a meme which she calls
Words for Wednesday.
She puts up a selection of six words which we then use in a short story, if
we are able.
Sometimes I look at her words and nothing at all comes to mind.
This week's words are:
1. clang
2. intrepid
3. cliff
4. buzzing
5. flash
6. broken
Here is my short story >
As Cliff danced around the controls of his spaceship, he felt just like the
Doctor. The flash of lights and the buzzing of machinery indicated that all was
going well.
He was fearless! He was brave and
heroic! He was....what was that new word
he had learned just last week?
In.....in.....intrepid! That was
it! He was intrepid!
He would fly through time and space saving people just like Dr Who!
Suddenly....Clang, Clang, Clang! the
bell in the tower rang and the spell was broken.
Cliff came back to earth with a thud.
9am and classes were about to begin.
Math was first and Cliff paid close attention.
He'd be needing Math
when he was a grown-up....when he started building his real spaceship.
This is Great....What a terrific spin on the words.

ReplyDeleteBrilliant. Thank you. I am in brain dead mode this week and you, and Delores and Susan Kane have all made wonderful use of this week's words.
ReplyDeleteDelores; thanks, I'm glad you liked it.
ReplyDeleteMimsie; thank you, yours was good too.

ReplyDeleteThe Wicked Writer; I often say I'm not a writer, but hand me a small challenge like this and I do okay.
ReplyDeleteRed Nomad OZ; there'll be another next Friday. And every Friday until Delores stops putting up the Wednesday words.
Oh you little devil, using the NAME Cliff! You get lots of points for that. From me. For what that's worth.
ReplyDeleteMurr Brewster; woo-hoo! extra points!
