What Irritates You Monday

I didn't have this scheduled, because I didn't have anything that irritated me.

So today I went shopping for a couple of new things, because I'm taking a short holiday soon.
Here's the breakdown:-
undies and socks shopping=10 minutes.
time spent waiting for buses=2 1/2 hours.
There's an irritation.

Oh, you want to know about the holiday?
on Friday 5th I'm flying across the country to Perth, to stay for a week with my brother R and his partner V.
I've never been to WA.
I've heard Perth is similar to Adelaide climate wise, so that's okay, but sightseeing....well there's a lot of things to see and do...I'm having a hard time deciding on that.

I'm definitely taking a ferry trip around Rottnest Island,  a day to look around the local markets is planned, the rest of the time we'll decide over breakfast what to do that day.
It's going to be fun.

But I'm not taking the computer, so I'll be offline for several days.

Try not to miss me too much, okay?

  1. You are not far from town and you should have a good bus service.

  2. Oh yes, I think you have to see Fremantle.

  3. I live here so difficult to say what to see or not to see. Freo is not the place it once was although there are some interesting things to see there. There are actually still some old buildings in Fremantle. A trip to Rottnest would be good and you can I believe do a bus tour of the island. I go out so little these days that I'm not up to date with what to see. A train ride down to Mandurah perhaps or even up on the northern line but what do you see from trains...not much!! Just the Freeway running alongside the tracks.
Our weather is going to be quite cold at the end of this week but not sure what we are due for next week. You have been having colder days than us of late I think, once your heatwave stopped happening.

  4. Andrew; R has mentioned the bus service is good and they will both be home over the weekend.

Mimsie; I'm thinking of a bus tour of Rottnest too, that way I'll see it from both sides. I'm packing scarf and gloves just in case and I'll be wearing the big jacket, the one my kids nicknamed The Doona.

  5. I LOVED Rottnest. Lots of quokkas, beautiful beaches... I was there in early summer, and swam too.
We will miss you, but have lots and lots of fun. I am really looking forward to your photos.

  6. Have a grand time and don't think about us for one second.

  7. How fun! Australia appears to be HUGE, and what fun to explore a bit of it!

  8. I forgot to mention King's Park which is beautiful and gives beautiful views of our lovely Swan River.
My mum had a seat officially dedicated to her years ago for her social service work but not sure it would be still be there. They did move it and it is probably gone now. Nothing lasts forever these days, more's the pity.
Forecast: Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday fine and mostly sunny with cold nights (2º + 3º) and coolish days around 17º). That of course could all change but fingers crossed it will be fine for you while here.

  9. Have a good time, I not been there myself so don't know any good places.

  10. Elephant's Child; I'll take photos, but whether I remember what they are and where they are, well, that's a whole different story.

Pearl; Australia is huge. Our small state, Victoria, can hold Germany 20 times over according to my dad. You really have to get out here and see for yourself one day.

Mimsie; King's Park is on the list. Thanks for the forecast.

Merelesworld; I know nothing of Perth or Fremantle so it will all be new and exciting.

  12. Delores; my memory isn't that good...I'll take lots of photos, but may not remember what and where each belongs. Taking down notes with each photo would take too much time.
