Musical Monday #36

Musical Monday

I was introduced to Musical Monday by Delores who copied the meme from another site.

I think it’s a fun way to show off some of the music we like and brighten up our Mondays at the same time.

I’ll be finding my clips on you tube, so will simply credit that site since there are often so many versions of everything and I wouldn’t want to accidentally credit the wrong artist.

Today's clip is: Boney M

Little Drummer Boy

I'm sure we all know the lyrics to this one. Sing Along!

  1. Nope, don't know the words. The tune is (of course) familiar and some of the words.
    Goodness I am musically ignorant.
And I hope this was a scheduled post and that Angel let you sleep a little longer.

  2. I could never stand Boney M...the just didn't do anything for me. I love the song, though.

I like the version of the song by David Bowie and Bing Crosby, although I was never a big fan of Crosby...I was (and still am), though, of Bowie. I saw Bowie live in concert back in the Eighties and he was just wonderful!

  3. I know it the song very well, courtesy of your former employer.

  4. Elephant's Child; yes, a scheduled post, but Angel still had me up at 2.55am. I swear I'm going to wring his little neck, if I can find it under all that fur...

Lee; I love boney M, so next week's Christmas song won't appeal to you either, nor the ones on 22nd and 29th. I didn't know David Bowie and Bing Crosby had a version, I'll look for it and listen.

Andrew; they do go a bit overboard don't they? Christmas songs from late November, all day, every day. It's fine for the customer who come and go, not so fine for those of us stuck there all day every day. If they varied the playlist it might not be so bad.

  7. Great pick. It makes me want to march right into the Christmas season.

  8. No problem, River. :) You play music you enjoy and that's what it's all about. We can't all like the same things, can we? We have our individual tastes...sometimes they blend, sometimes not. :)

    Cuddles to Angel. :)

  9. I liked it very much.

  10. Delores; sorry about that. My kids used to love it and got out their toy drums to sing along. They made more noise than actual singing though!

Manzanita; I'm not ready to march into Christmas yet, but I don't have much choice.

Lee; the world would be a sad place if everybody liked the same things with no variation.

Merle; it's one of my favourites.

  11. Not heard of Boney (that is not unusual for yours truly) but have always loved that tune and yes, I think I know most of the words too.
Thank you so much for sharing in a lead up to the festive season.

  13. Mimsie; Boney M became popular in the mid to late 70s, with their song Rivers of Babylon. Not many people like their sound, but I do.
