Sunday Selections # 548
Long ago, in days of yore...Kim of Frog ponds Rock, (who no longer blogs), dreamed up a meme called Sunday Selections.
A place where those who were willing could put up photos they wanted to share, new, old, good, bad or indifferent, any photos you please.
Nothing rude or vulgar though.
And we don't mind at all if overseas bloggers care to join us.
The meme is now continued by Elephant's Child and I occasionally join in as do a few others. Andrew is one. Messymimi is another. Drop in to Elephant's Child and have a look.
these are the two crows that come to eat mealworms by my front porch. It's a little blurry because I had to take the photo through the screen door.

a happy little fisherman, I think I have shown him before, but this time the 'lake' is painted blue.
the Fairies are back but I haven't told the redheads yet, it's been too cold out there lately
these two have always been here and love to play on the seesaw.
Now for a trip down memory lane. The following photos, which some of you are sure to remember, are part of the 7km boardwalk along the cliffs and the views down at Marino.
I keep promising myself that I'll get down there again.

Fresca; I'm sure they will be. The cliff walk is great if you are not afraid of heights.

ReplyDeleteElephant's Child; I'm planning on walking it as soon as I am fully vaccinated and the weather fines up. As long as the trains are running.

ReplyDeleteArkansas Patti; it follows the coastline and dips into gullies and climbs out of them, it's quite a workout. I've seen people running along parts of it. When I walked I thought I was doing okay until I got passed by an elderly man with a walking stick.
DeleteIt's much easier to look at the boardwalk along the cliff than trying to walk/climb it...for me, anyway! :)

DeleteThe walk looks so well done...but, steps, up and down, hills, up and down. I remember looking up where Marina is at the time but of course I have forgotten now. After your second vaccination there is no reason why you can't travel further afield.
ReplyDeleteAndrew; parts of the walk had to be repaired recently and other sections have joined from other suburbs so it is longer now, apparently the plan is to have one continuous path from north to south. Marino is quite far south of the city, on the way to Hallett Cove.

Iris Flavia; I like hearing the crows, they caw-caw when they want me to through out some mealworms. The singing of the magpies is very nice too.

That cliff walk looks scarylicious, I'd like to walk there one day. As to you having shown us those photos earlier, I only remember one of the photos - the one with the bench, you used it for a WfW once - but it is nice to see it in context.
ReplyDeleteCharlotte; that's right, I used it in one chapter of Tom's story. the walk looks scarier than it is, but if you are not used to it, you do need to watch your step. It is wide enough for two people to walk side by side.

messymimi; I will say hello to the crows for you. The fairy garden area is quite dusty and has more than a few spider webs, it has been too cold to be out there during the winter as it gets no sunshine at all.
DeleteThat walk would have my heart pounding, and not just from exertion. I am not fond of heights, nor of water. The only thing to make it worse for my likes would be if somebody was walking beside me with bare FEET! That said, it's a beautiful view, and well-done path, for those who enjoy such things.
ReplyDeleteVal; I love the water and standing up high and looking out over the ocean is something I love too. It is a very beautiful area, but not the place for bare feet.
