  5. Gee, that surely gives one much food for thought. I guess medical science just hadn't advanced far enough. We put up with the pollution etc., and than have the medical breakthroughs that keep us going through all the current bad stuff.

  7. Delores; I think it's very good, true too. Way back then, 25-30 was considered elderly, not many lived past that age.

    Elephant's Child; it is sad, they had all the good things and didn't live long enough to enjoy them.

    Merlesworld; medicare is it's own problem. Why can't they include dental in there? I can't afford the amount of repair work I need for sure.

    Mimsie; there really was no medical science in those days. There were shamans and healers and wise women who knew a bit about the healing properties of some herbs and plants, along with knowing that fresh fruits and veg in the spring helped people get going again after the lean winters.
