Sunday Selections #91

Welcome back to Sunday Selections!

Sunday Selections was begun by Kim of Frog Ponds Rock as a way to showcase old photos that have never been seen. It's moved away from that a little bit as I sometimes show much newer photos.

The rules are very simple:
1. post photos of your choice under the Sunday Selections title
2. link back to me, River, somewhere in your post
3. leave me a comment so that I know you've joined in.

This week, I have photos of the gardens here that I took last week.

"they're ba-a-a-a-ck"  (name that movie)

The roses that is.

A while ago, (not on a Sunday), I showed the rose bushes in their winter mode.
Bare branches as far as the eyes could see.

Today, just a few short weeks later, everything is coming up roses!

Remember this?

And this?

Well, look at them now!

all colours, all sizes, from one end of the complex to the other, the gardens here are ablaze with flowers of all types, not just roses.

  1. It's so good to know that there is Spring somewhere.

  2. Aren't roses just the most wonderful plant.

  3. Blooming good stuff. I bet the perfume is delightful to.

  4. How beautiful. Your season is well ahead of us here. We will not get blooms from the roses for another month or so.
These roses look incredible, I would be hard put to choose a favourite. Thank you.

  6. Hi River,
I rose from my chair to have a better look at all those beautiful, colourful flowers.

Nice to see a bit of Spring. Hopefully, next year in Britain, we will actually get a Spring.

  7. Delores; it's always spring somewhere.

Andrew; they really are, so many varieties and colours!

Windsmoke; the perfume isn't so noticeable because the winds are quite strong and blow it all away. I'll have to bring some blooms inside to appreciate them.

Elephant's Child; for colour my favourites are the apricot ruffly one and the sunset orange/yellow ones and the deep red, the snowy white.....oh heck! All of them. For perfume the deep red is the best. No contest there.

    Joanne Noragon; aha! Smell-a-vision.

klahanie; I hope you get a spring over there too. It would be quite sad to not have any bright flowers. But you can look at mine as often as you like.

  11. While your beautiful roses are singing with glorious color, ours are succumbing to the frost. How kind of nature to make sure all part of our world can share in her beauty albeit different times of the year. Beautiful pictures ... makes me yearn for spring. On the other hand, there is beauty in the snow and ice draped on the skeletal remains of last year's flowers ...

  12. My word yes, my study of females is constant, my judgement is impeccable, and being a pervert is nothing to do with it.

  13. Kath Lockett; Adelaide is great for roses!

  14. I went for a walk to my local Foodland, and it was roses, roses all the way, was last Spring this good for the roses too?

  15. Amanda; there were plenty of roses last spring, but this year the show is just fabulous. I think the colder winter we had may have something to do with that.
