Musical Monday #13

Musical Monday

I was introduced to Musical Monday by Delores who copied the meme from another site.

I think it’s a fun way to show off some of the music we like and brighten up our Mondays at the same time.

I’ll be finding my clips on you tube, so will simply credit that site since there are often so many versions of everything and I wouldn’t want to accidentally credit the wrong artist.

Today’s clip is The Traveling Wilburys again, because I really like their music.

Here are: George Harrison, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan and Neil Young, for your listening enjoyment.

Handle Me With Care.
very nice yes? Easy listening, mellow sound. Very relaxing.

for those, like me, who can't always make out the words.

  1. Such a shame they only put out the two albums. They are easy (and very pleasant) listening.

  2. I've got to get these albums....

  3. Elephant's Child; I think they stopped when Roy Orbison died. I should check and see if they did any more after a suitable mourning period.

Delores; they are just titled The Traveling Wilburys Volume 1 and 2, not all of the songs are as easy to listen to, but most are. I don't think you'd like "Tweeter and the Monkey Man". I had these on cassette tape and I think they may still be at my daughter's house with the old vinyl albums.

  4. I am showing my ignorance again as I had no idea all those fellows performed together. I've never been a fan of Bob Dylan but always liked George Harrison and Roy Orbison (have some of his solo music).
Quite enjoyed this song but as usual couldn't make out all the word. Nice beat though and good tune.
Don'e know of Tom Petty or Neil Young. Gee, I am old!!!
Oh, that was weird. The video stopped half way through but as I was typing this it began to play again so now I will have heard the whole song. Love the background guitar music.

  5. Mimsie; they were all single performers in their later years, so got together to sing and a couple of albums resulted, plus concerts I believe. The second video has the words, but you don't need to read them if you don't want. I knew of Tom Petty and Neil Young, but haven't heard any of their earlier songs.

  6. I was telling Phil after reading this post about how I imagined these chaps had gotten together in their later years and seems I was right. I do often check the words when time allows and will do so again when I return to this blog again. I do often return to read comments and just to check if I've missed anything.

It's not one of my favourites but its okay.

    :0)

    Cheers

  8. I very rarely listen to the words. :-) Is that odd?
