heard on the news last night

14 MORE mass shootings since the Texas school shooting only 6 days ago.

Here's a question for the NRA:

How can you look into the eyes of your own children and still feel proud?

YOUR children, who may have lost a few friends due to school shootings, or grocery store shootings, any shooting really.

HOW can you still feel proud of yourselves?

  1. I saw this on the news last night except it was only 12 when they were reporting it. "Only 12". How sad is that statement?

    1. Steve Reed; is there any chance he could come back and haunt them now? Please?

  4. Huge sigh. When will it ever end? I saw a photograph of an NRA representative going past the protestors/mourners in Texas. He had his fingers in his ears. Which I suspect says it all.

  5. You would think the answer would be simple. People died in car accidents and seat belts became mandatory. Banishing all sales of assault rifles and background checks doesn't seem unreasonable but so far, no politician has had the courage to demand it.

    1. Arkansas Patti; the answer should be simple. Ban the guns. But the politicians are being paid off by the NRA. Shame on all of them.

  9. 05:36 am, it was not in the news here yet. How sad and sick this is happening again.
Those people must be mentally ill and their parents did not a good job raising them.
Sad, don´t even am keen to turn on the news later...
These people are cowards, really. To shoot from a distance I believe you have not really an idea of really ending a person´s life.
Not that I am happy people here use knives and such, but at least they have to "brave up" and approach the person, look them in the eye and be near. Risk the person defends himself. Feel how the body tries to resist the penetration of the knife... Awful either way, unnecessary. And sick.

    1. Iris Flavia; I think society is more to blame than the parents in a lot of cases, too much social media, too many violent video games, not enough work for young people to get jobs that would occupy their mind and time. It's a sad world, made sadder in the USA by the ready availability to guns and ammunition.

  10. Sad regarding the children, any child that is murdered is extra sad. Oneday the gun people might wake up well some of them but of course not all as it would take away their freedom to own a gun/s.

    1. Margaret D; I don't think freedom should include owning guns. I think freedom is children happily going off to school or anywhere else knowing they are safe and not about to get shot.

    1. I don't have a comments spam folder, only an email spam folder. I will check that one. This is the first time a comment has disappeared here.

    2. You do have a spam folder. If you click on the page that shows you comments, there is a downward pointing arrow at the top of the page. If you click on that it will show you the spam that has been collected.

  12. How can you still feel proud of yourselves? It is not about feeling proud. It is all about money.

    1. Haddock; you are right. It IS all about the money. When they are old and frail, what good will all their money do then?

  14. They can feel proud because their moral compasses continue to malfunction. in their world everything is topsy turvy. They probably think that The Earth is flat and that Ronald Reagan was a genius.

    1. Yorkshire Pudding; yours is just one of many comments I rescued from a spam folder I didn't know I had. Elephant's Child pointed me in the right direction to find it. I think perhaps these people have no moral compass at all, it dies when greed takes over.
