SCAM warning for Australians
A new scam supposedly from "mygov" is telling people they are getting an "outstanding refund" of $700+
all of you who have a MyGov account BEWARE. This is fake, do not open any texts or emails.
Hover your cursor over the name the email is from and the true address shows up under it.
If you get an actual letter in your post box, it is FAKE
Oh, boy. Does anyone think someone will open that? Oh, wait. I do know a few people who would (I had one colleague here, two, they would!).
ReplyDeleteIris; sadly I know a few who might fall for it too.
DeleteThanks for that warning R.
ReplyDeleteMargaret D; you're welcome
DeleteSigh. Thanks for the warning. Sadly I think that these people only need a couple of people to be taken in to make a profit.
ReplyDeleteElephant's Child; that's true and they'll get more than a couple I think. Too many will see the amount and won't think it through.
DeleteThese scams are ubiquitous. Take heed. If it's too good to be true, it probably isn't.
ReplyDeleteJoanne; I'm glad all my readers know to be careful, but sad for the many out there who get duped.
DeleteScammers make me mad!
ReplyDeletemessymimi; me too.
Deletescams everywhere
ReplyDeleteyellowdoggranny; luckily we are smart enough to spot them and I usually tell a few of my neighbours who I know might be susceptible.
