The original Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and eventually taken over by a moveable feast of participants when Delores had computer troubles. Sadly, Delores has now closed her blog forever due to other problems. The aim of the words is to encourage us to write. A story, a poem, whatever comes to mind. If you are posting an entry on your own blog, please let us know so we can come along to read it and add a few encouraging words. This month the words/prompts are supplied by River (that's me) and can be found here This week's words/prompts are: 1. on the run 2. belong 3. street 4. breakfast 5. tent and this image: taken by "Genius" and allowed by Val . Also Charlotte's colour of the month which is Orient Red for September.
And not buy new ones to replace them.
ReplyDeleteElephant's Child; for sure don't replace them. On my news page there was something about a hose passing a bill to raise the age at which they can buy guns. I wish they'd also pass a bill stating that assault weapons cannot be bought at any age.
DeleteAgree! and to the Syrians and all oppressed people all over the globe!
ReplyDeleteCharlotte; yes and I should confess I'd forgotten about the other wars going on.
DeleteSebby Wilson Jacobson deserves a big pat on the back for that idea. However, I understand that it is an American's right to bear arms and assassinate children. I believe this was cemented in The Constitution by the slave-owning forefathers.
ReplyDeleteYorkshire Pudding; I'm sure the assassination of children part wasn't in the constitution.
DeleteYes. Agreed. Also Germany should stop promising but do! It´s embarrassing and sad...
ReplyDeleteIris Flavia; they are doing something aren't they? Taking in refugees at least.
DeleteYes and that puts guns in the hands of people fighting in a war, and not your peace loving next neighbour.
ReplyDeleteAndrew; true. I think the people fighting in wars would prefer to be peace loving neighbours too. Well, most of them, let's not include Putin, he's no peace lover.
Deleteso called Patriotic
ReplyDeleteAmericans are insane...they only think "America First and
Trump", relief will not come from them.
Linda Sue; I'm still hoping the tide will turn, however slowly that may be.
DeleteLove it. They would be used as they were intended. They are weapons of war.
ReplyDeleteArkansas Patti; If only they were never needed at all.
DeleteActually, they've been taking up such collections for a couple of months, of any weapons people are willing to donate.
ReplyDeletemessymimi; I saw something about that on the TV news, an NRA member willingly gave up his weapon because of his children or grandchildren. I think he just handed it to police though. I have heard of others handing in guns for the war.
