    EC; I don't like hot chips as much as I did when I was little. The vegetable oils they fry in are just not as tasty as the animal fats they used to fry in. I still make my own now and again, but it's kind of a once a year thing now.

    Windsmoke; potato crisps are still out there, just lost in amongst all the fancy new flavours, which are a little over-the-top if you ask me.

    Cold fries in a bag?? It sounds... gross. Then again, so does Vegemite. :)

    Are they just potato chips that LOOK like fries? Or are they cold fries, all soggy in the bag for real?

    Happy Elf; these are a fry shaped version of potato chips. Crunchy, salty, yummy. Certainly not real fries all cold and soggy. ERK!

    River weren't they Smith's Chips in the 'old' days. How things have changed. Because of that there is no longer a place in my cupboard for them.

    Cheryl; Smith's Chips are still available, but now they're Smith's Crisps and come in many new flavours as well as the original.

Brother R came to visit and brought me some old paperwork belonging to my dad, who has been dead for 25 and a half years now.  They'd been stored in a container with moth balls and were quite stinky so I pegged them out on the clothes rack in the back porch three days later, most are now inside, but the heavier items such as dad's passports are still smelly so they are still out there.
