Musical Monday # 111

Musical Monday

I was introduced to Musical Monday by Delores who copied the meme from another site.

I think it’s a fun way to show off some of the music we like and brighten up our Mondays at the same time.

I’ll be finding my clips on you tube, so will simply credit that site since there are often so many versions of everything and I wouldn’t want to accidentally credit the wrong artist.

Today’s clip is: Trisha Yearwood

Not a Bad Thing

and a little line dancing?

I'm curious about the woman in black at the front right, is she wearing tap shoes?

  2. I currently have musical crushes on Leonard Cohen and Ben Howard.

    1. The Cranky; I've heard of Leonard Cohen, but not Ben Howard. I'll have to visit you tube.

  3. They do look like taps. I am so impressed at how graceful they are. That is one practised (and perfected) piece.

    1. Elephant's Child; they do look very practised, pretty sure it's not their first lesson.

  4. It almost sounds like tap. There is a deliberate sound of the shoes to the music.

    1. S.J.Qualls; I thought I heard shoes, my hearing isn't so good and I had the sound turned down, but I'll have another listen now.

  5. I especially liked watching the line dancing video. My total lack of coordination has me quite fond of watching people that can keep time.

    1. Cheryl; dancing is something I wish I could do. I never learned and wouldn't mind starting with something easy like this.

  6. I think they're just ladies line-dancing shoes, not tap. The lace-up shoes she's wearing look to be made of soft leather, uppers and sole. For those who take their line-dancing seriously there are special shoes.

Trisha Yearwood is always a good way to start the week off.. :) She was on TV on day last week, too.

    1. PS...you will hear the "tapping" sound in the official video, too...I think it's just the brushes and drumsticks on drums.

    2. Lee; aha! Mystery solved, thank you.
Trisha was on TV last week? I haven't been watching TV much, too many of the advertisements drive me nuts.rioriorio, rioriorio....Gaaack!

  7. I am not sure about taps, but the shoes some wear do make a tap like noise.

    1. Andrew; business shoes with hard leather soles make a sound. Not sure about all dance shoes, but tap shoes have metal 'taps' on heels and toes. I didn't think line dancers had their own shoe style, I've only ever seen people line dancing in boots, usually cowboy boots. On TV.

  8. Don't know the singer or the song and had difficulty in hearing the words of the song. Really enjoyed the line dancing; they are so graceful and it seemed a nice tune to keep time to as well.
There are dozens of singers out there that I've never heard of now so learning new ones from you.

    1. Mimsie; the words are a bit hard to hear and I couldn't find a video with the lyrics, but it's a nice relaxing sound and the dancers were good.

  9. That's all right out of my neighborhood. Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood are close by in Owasso, Oklahoma. I got to listen to your music this week because I dumped Window's 10 and got my sound back on my computer. Yay!

  10. Granny Annie; wow! to live so close to greatness!
I had sound with my Windows10, but it was very 'tinny', not at all like I'd had with Windows7, so I bought external speakers and went through all the steps to be able to hear through them instead.
