Musical Monday # 83

Musical Monday

I was introduced to Musical Monday by Delores who copied the meme from another site.

I think it’s a fun way to show off some of the music we like and brighten up our Mondays at the same time.

I’ll be finding my clips on you tube, so will simply credit that site since there are often so many versions of everything and I wouldn’t want to accidentally credit the wrong artist.

Today’s clip is: Miranda Lambert

Dry Town

and a bonus song from David Bowie:

Let's Dance from the album of the same name, recorded right here in Australia in the small New South Wales town of Carinda in 1983.

and the lyrics:

David Bowie aka Ziggy Stardust, which is how I first knew him.

Comments

  1. "Let's Dance from the album Heroes, recorded right here in Australia in the small New South Wales town of Carinda in 2983." I assume you meant 1983!!

  2. David Bowie is more to my taste. And he was always ahead of his time, so perhaps you did mean 2983.

  3. I was going to make a comment about the date too but I think that has been covered.

  5. Bowie's "Let's Dance" album (the album this track is on) was released in 1983.

His "Heroes" album was released in 1977. He released also released a second album in 1977 - "Low".

I'm now limbering up for the start of the Aus Open...racquet in hand!

  7. fishducky; yes I did mean 1983 and I've now fixed it.

Elephant's Child; I've gotten so used to the 2 since the turn of the century, I just didn't watch carefully enough. Fixed it now.

Merle; maybe I was time travelling :) I fixed it.

Lee; I suppose whoever put this on you tube got the albums mixed up, I'll do a bit more editing.
No tennis watching for me, it's almost as boring as cricket. To me anyway.

Andrew; it's good, a nice beat for bopping around while you dry dishes.

  8. There is always time for Bowie...and I adore Miranda - looking forward to seeing her in concert later this year!

  9. Margaret-whiteangel; bopping around the kitchen?

Claire; not many people know about Miranda, you've surprised me. I heard her first at my daughter's house, she has a lot of American country singers on her i-tunes.

  10. Never heard of the lass before and it's quite a catchy tune.
Would you believe I have never heard a song sung by David Bowie. Phil and I always thought he was a wee bit 'strange' but perhaps as EC said he was ahead of his time.
The songs you put on here make e feel sooooo old. (*:*)
