Sunday Selections #16

It's Sunday Selection time again!!

Time to post photos that have been hiding away in your computer files, photos that you may have completely forgotten about.

This idea comes to us from Kim at frogpondsrock, when she realised that she takes many more photos than she uses.

These following photos are a few that I changed to black and white a couple of years ago, before my photo edit program died.

raindrop

hibiscus

daisy

passionfruit flower

To join in with Sunday Selections, post photos under the Sunday Selections title, then go to Kim's site and add your name to her link list. Leave a comment there too.
Then have a look at what others have posted for their selections. There are some really good photographers out there.

  1. So clever. I love the passionfruit flower. They are amazing and you captured them so well.

  2. EC; thanks. The passionfruit vine is in my backyard. I don't like passionfruit, but the flowers are amazing.

  3. Ohh... I'm a sucker for raindrops and dew on leaves and flowers - like tiny jewels, all shiny and transparent. Like The Elephant's Child, I love the closeup of the passionfruit flower - it looks almost alien and not a thing like the luscious fruit it will turn into. Darn! passionfruit... yummmmm... now I'm thinking about pavlova. See what you've done? :-)

  4. Beautiful images River; they wouldn't look out of place framed on a wall.

  5. Yeah, I like the raindrop one too but they're all very good and work well as black & white shots.

  6. Passionfruit flower looks so cool, like a complex knot. :)

  7. Whenever I see "It's (Sunday Selection) time again I'm reminded of that bastard Bahnish at LP who's always cadging dough from his schoolkid commenters.

"It's that time again," he says, meaning he fancies another creme brulee, washed down with a fifty dollar bottle of plonk -the sycophantic crawling feminist-suckhole pinko POONCE!

  10. There is a really good photographer here, too! The raindrop shot is terrific!

  11. Just stunning River, as Tenille said, well worth framing or even selling - just gorgeous. Thanks for sharing.

  12. That raindrop photo is incredible, and how amazing is the passionfruit flower! I can't wait until we plant some banana passionfruits (either for the back fence or over an arch, undecided)as I prefer those after having them on the fence as a kid, and I don't remember the flowers being that special

  13. I love B&W flower photos. The raindrop is fantastic. And the passionfruit flower is so intriguing. I like how the B&W makes you focus more on the form of the flower than on the colour, if you know what I mean?

  14. You're not a bad photographer yourself. The Passionfruit is especially good. My horses eat the flowers so I never get any fruit!

  15. Marie; thanks. I'll never understand how passionfruit and pavlova go together, but that's because I don't like passionfruit.

Tenille; I liked the coloured versions too, but the black and white came out really well. Framed, I think they'd make a nice gift.

Gaby; Raindrops are always popular as photos, they're like little crystals.

Marita; I'd never looked closely at a passionfruit flower until the day I was trying (and failing) to photograph bees.

R.H. there'll be no cadging dough from this site. You're safe here.

peskypixies; it's a bright yellow in real life.

    learncreatedo; thanks.

    Red Nomad; thank you too.

Kakka; I'd like to sell some, but as a book, like a coffee table book. I'll have to look into it.

amandab; banana passionfruit flowers are a little different I think. There's a vine I pass on my way to work, I'll have to get some photos the next time I see flowers on it.

sleepydwarf; I'll do more black and whites as soon as I get a new photo edit program. I did a B&W of my youngest grand daughter which also came outreally well. Can't post it though.

Baino; I get lots of fruit! At Christmas, I spray paint it gold to look like tree ornaments.

  16. The passionfruit flower looks like something alien in black and white. I like! And raindrops are always beautiful. On photo that is. And when it's been dry for a long time, like now. I'd love some raindrops for the garden ;-)

  17. Carolina; I'll do a rain dance for you.
