I'm eating sweetened condensed milk straight out of the can.

I've been reading several cooking blogs and focussing on the sweet recipes, because I love sweet stuff.
I can't be bothered actually cooking or baking anything sweet,
so I'm eating sweetened condensed milk straight out of the can.

For dessert.

Because I was a good girl and already ate my baked beans and toast.

And I don't have any vanilla slices handy.


  1. I've been craving those vanilla slices since the last one slid down my throat Saturday morning LOL.
    AND I was eying off the can of condensed milk in the pantry, too! LOL

    Go for it River - I've just eaten two snickers bars, in order to 'fuel myself' before doing the dreaded vacuuming!

  3. Jayne and Kath; I've had these cans in the pantry since last summer when I was making slices etc and taking them in to work for sharing. I'm not making any right now because I know I'll just eat them instead of proper meals, so they've become dessert. Sort of. I don't eat the whole can in one go, that's a little too much sweet, even for me. I look at it as getting a daily dose of calcium.

  4. Now this is easy. Take the lid completely off the can and place the can in a pot of water that comes now quite halfway up. Just keep cooking until the condensed milk is the desired colour, lighter is soft caramel, darker is chewy caramel.
    When it's the right colour pour it into a greased pan or even a plate, cool a little then cut into cubes. Sweeties for the week and if Kath's coming, throw a bit of melted chocolate on top.
